Hands On Savannah

75 volunteers participated in several projects around the Coastal Empire. Projects included a Memorial Garden Planting, production of a video exploring Dr. Kings dream and legacy along with a public viewing and discussion and a project with Habitat for Humanity. 2007 Hands On Savannah Week of Service

During this week long service event, hundreds of volunteers participated in events in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties. Activities included a Beach Sweep, garden planting, public lands clean up and a distribution of brown bags of groceries to senior citizens.

Marshpoint Elementary and Applegrove Restaurants

A superior example of corporate volunteering, the employees of Applegrove Restaurants, parent company of Applebee's, spent two days in October of 2007 making improvements on the campus of Marshpoint Elementary, a Chatham County public school. The company invested $35,000 into the project and made the Marshpoint playground shine.
